If you are experiencing any of the above or anything unusual, then you might have been infected with a virus or trojan. These programs will tend to control your computer and make it unusable or unpleasant to use. If you have been infected with a fake anti-virus program, this will tell you that you have multiple infections and to remove them, you will need to activate the program, which will take you to a website and ask for your card details for payment usually in dollars. They will then take money from your account leaving your bank security exposed and you will still have the virus on your computer. Another type of fake program is one claiming to be from the authorities such FBI, insisting that you have visited websites that are illegal. Again, these are programs that want to extract money from you and often referred to as Ransomware.
If you suspect that you have a virus or fake program, we can remove them from your computer without losing your documents or photos. There are two options for removal, onsite or collection. With the onsite method, we will remove the major part of the virus and check your computer for any more suspicious activity, but are limited to running full system scans due to the time they take. This method does work, but it cannot be guaranteed of full removal and we advised to run a full system scan using your own anti-virus. With collection, we can offer the best solution and fully check your computer. This will involve taking away your computer and running a variety of scans, with each scan taking from 1 hour to 6 hours depending on how much data needs to be scanned. We will also check the files system for errors and also check system files if needed. Temporary files and internet files will be cleaned and your computer will be running much faster and reliable. This process will take approximately 1-2 days and will be delivered back and setup to make sure everything is working as it should.
For more serious and embedded viruses, the only way to remove them is to format the drive and re-install the operating system which will delete everything from the computer, but your documents, photos etc. can be backed up and copied back onto your computer.
